A third-level utensil rack is just one of the premium features that adds to the flexibility of this 6-cycle dishwasher. Fold-down tines in both racks and sliding tines in the lower rack allow you to customize your loading patterns to fit everything from 14 place settings to loads of pots, pans, and casserole dishes.

Third Level Utensil Rack

Makes it easy to clean hard-to-place items such as spatulas and serving utensils, as well as creating space for extra silverware.

ProScrub® Option

Helps eliminate soaking or pre-scrubbing with 40 targeted spray jets that help remove stubborn messes like seared or baked-on foods.

Heat Dry Option

Delivers the best drying 1 by activating a recessed heating element at the end of the cycle.

Additional Features
ProWash Cycle

Determines the ideal cycle for washing dishes based on soil level and then makes real-time adjustments to achieve the best cleaning performance

Concealed Controls

offers tucked away controls on top of the dishwasher door, providing clean, uninterrupted front panel lines that help you match other stainless steel appliances.

SatinGlide® Max Upper Rack

Creates a smooth, premium feeling when pulling out the upper rack, particularly with heavy loads. Adjusters make it easy to raise or lower the rack while the rails help keep the rack solidly on track.

Whisper Quiet® System at 45 dBA

Offers premium sound insulation that makes it convenient to operate day or night, including when you entertain.

Fold-Down Tines in Upper and Lower Racks

Help improve cleaning performance. Two rows of tines in the upper rack adjust in two positions and one in the lower rack will adjust in one of three positions so water can clean inside deep or wide dishes.

Fold-Down Shelf with Stemware Holders

Provides extra room in the upper rack to hold additional cups, wine glasses, or long items such as utensils and spatulas.

Sliding Tines in the Lower Rack

provides the ideal fit for deep and narrow dish sizes. The adjustable tines let you customize the spacing between the rows.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Love my KitchenAid Dishwasher

Mclula 7/1/2019

I had a Bosch before and thought I was stepping down... I was wrong. This dishwasher is every bit as good and quiet if not better.

Stopped after 3 years

Jwilk 1/21/2019

The positive is that this dishwasher is very quiet and was pleased with its performance until it stopped working. Lights come on but doesn't run. Previous Samsung lasted well over 10 years. Should have gone back with that.

Poor lifetime

lmr0 1/12/2019

I wrote a review 1 year ago when the dishwasher was 3 years old. The top rack fell out and I was pleased when KitchenAid sent a repairman and new rack for free. However, since that time, the bottom wheels constantly fall off, I have to order new wheel kits repeatedly and last night it leaked water all over the kitchen floor. Luckily I was there and shut down the dishwasher. Water is leaking out from the bottom of the motor and I can't see sinking more money into this 4 year old machine! 4 years is way too short of a time for the price we paid for this. Terribly disappointed.

Does not age well

usabill 8/28/2018

We've had this dishwasher for about 5 or 6 years. The dishwasher itself runs great however since about a year ago plastic bits have started to break. Most recently the upper rack became unusable because the plastic rail that the pullout metal slider (which is beginning to show signs of rust) fits into broke off. Other plastic bits like the positioners and tine pivot clips break very easy as well. We use city water which is filtered through a salt water softener and retail dishwasher tabs. I am surprised that while all other parts and construction seem to be top-notch that the company decided to use low-grade plastics with limited shelf life.

top rack ball bearings fall out

linr 1/26/2018

we bought this 3 years ago and the plastic inside the side slide out arm for the top tray has slowly dried out and cracks. As you pull the top tray out, the small metal ball bearings fall out and go into the filter at the bottom. I have to get them out with a magnet or they go into the filter and then into my garbage disposal. I had to replace the garbage disposal due to damage. Now, the final piece of plastic and remaining ball bearings fell out and the entire top tray fell out on side side. Will never buy kitchenmaid again. Cleaned ok but replacing after 3 years is terrible.

Third rack useless bad utensil basket

Aqzw 12/28/2017

Bought after appliance store said another model not available and now turns out this one is discontinued. Unlike other third racks this one is so shallow nearly nothing fits. One utensil basket with setup to insert each piece with handle down is annoying and less functional. My older KA had two utensil baskets and loaded easier

Steep learning curve

Janclem 12/27/2017

Bought 3 weeks ago and am having a challenge navigating on-line owner manual, learning how best to load it and get used to a new way of putting things in. Still feels like it doesn't hold as much as my 26 year old Hotpoint with no bells or whistles. While it wasn't an essential criterion, it is superquiet. I have to take it on faith that the very LONG run time is more energy efficient. Seems counter-intuitive.

Don't Buy

m. allison 12/5/2017

We had this dishwasher only two and a half years and now we have to make the decision to buy a new one or spend hundreds on fixing it. It is only used once or twice a week and the repairman said it needs a new pump and motor. I had water all over my basement wall and damage behind the dishwasher because of the leak. When I called KitchenAid they offered to send a new pump and motor, but I'm still out hundreds of dollars for diagnosis and repairs.

Worked great at first, but get the warranty

9/17/2017

We bought this dishwasher and were very happy with it for about 18 months. At some point, it stopped drying well, even with JetDry and heated dry cycles. We reached out to support but they weren't helpful. Go ahead and buy it, but get the extended warranty. You'll likely need it.

Great Dishwasher!!!

4/2/2017

I did my research and I am very pleased with this dishwasher. I have tried most cycles and have been very impressed with how clean my dishes come out. I have tried really dirty dishes and not so dirty dishes and they all come out clean. Dishwasher is very quiet. My only problem is I can't figure out how the upper silverware tray works so I took it out. I have only been using dishwasher for about a month but I am very happy with it. Hands down better than my last one that never got anything clean.

Extraordinarily quiet!

11/27/2016

Very quiet while running. Sometimes i need to put my ear to the door to ensure it is. Interior is plastic - top and bottom racks seem sturdy but the dishwasher wrack (top shelf) seems a little flimsy. My entire flatware set won't fit up there, but it is good overflow. 2 cons to this dishwasher: 1) Seems the dishwasher runs for hours. I've never actually timed the cycles but they seem to be about 90 minutes for a "normal" run. Even the light cycle is almost an hour. 2) The stainless steel front is a bear to keep clean! Dishes are very clean when they come out and that is both for rinsed plates and non rinsed plates Other than that, i would recommend this product

Works well, but we purchased it only one month ago.

10/15/2016

The best review of any appliance is after at least one year's usage. Generally speaking, most appliances will work fairly well during the manufacturer's one year warranty period. Any time thereafter, expectations are highly questionable, irrespective of the original purchase price of the appliance. New buyers should seriously consider purchasing an extended warranty agreement on these types of purchases because most new technology today is surely to break down more frequently after the warranty period and/or require replacement more quickly!

Great dishwasher.

9/18/2016

Silent, efficient, I could not live without it. However I should give it 4.5 stars. The top drawer rail is a bit flimsy. The system has little metal balls that went all over the place when got "broken" and as a consequence the drawer does not open completely anymore unless forced. Other than that, it works great.

Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KDTE334DSSO

7/31/2016

We purchased our Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KDTE334DSSO in April of 2014. We bought it as part of a 4 piece Kitchen Aid Architect Series set. We also bought the 48 month extended warranty. After just over two years, the top rack of the dishwasher failed. The top rack will not slide out and we've found metal ball bearings in the dishwasher. Turns out this type of repair is not covered by the extended warranty and the estimate for parts & labor is almost half the cost of the dishwasher. Having to pay that much to repair a 2 yr. old dishwasher with an extended warranty is outrageous! This is not at all what I would expect from Kitchen Aid brand. And to add to the frustration, the repair parts are back ordered. That tells me that I'm not the only one with top rack problems! I'm very disappointed with this purchase! A beautiful, quiet dishwasher is only a great consumer item if it stands the test of time. Two years would be pitiful for even a low end dishwasher, which this is not priced as! I would not recommend this appliance!!

This is our 3rd purchase of a Kitchenaid dishwasher. Having recently moved into a new home there was no question as to the make of our dishwasher. The dependability, functionality, durability and the quiet operation are unsurpassed. This is the only dishwasher I would ever purchase.

does not fully drain--foul smell

7/17/2016

This dishwasher cleans dishes, but has had a foul smell from the beginning. There is an inch of water that doesn't fully drain. We had it serviced from the company from which we purchased and had it installed. We were told the water is supposed to be there. Don't even try to get a real person on the phone. I tried five times and after the long wait time I was disconnected twice. Thought I'd try live chat and that has been disabled. I'd expect better customer service for the price we paid for this dishwasher.

Smells and Not drying

6/21/2016

We purchased the matching dishwasher, fridge and stove for our kitchen remodel. We have been happy with the other appliances. However, there is a metallic smell that comes out after each cycle and the dishes are wet, even on the drying cycle. I have to make sure to open the dishwasher immediately after the cycle to get the dishes to dry. I could live with the dishes not drying, not that I think I should have too at this price point. But, the smell is terrible. My daughter drank water from a glass last night that just came out of the dishwasher and there is an after taste in your mouth.

Great dishwasher!

booksfan 6/12/2016

This dishwasher is super quiet and does an excellent job. It is so quiet, I have sometimes gone to check if it is actually running! I really like the silverware rack, which has slots for each piece, so I don't have to worry about pieces nesting if someone else (i.e., husband) loads dishwasher. The third rack is especially useful when dishwasher is full; the additional space is welcome! I also use the stemware pulldowns regularly and have adjusted the top rack occasionally. It is also thrifty with water. Only downside: cycle length. It takes a LONG time to finish a cycle! However, I happily put up with that for all the positives!

Love this dishwasher!

6/5/2016

Love this dishwasher. It's sooooo quiet, has plenty of options and I no longer need to "pre-wash" my dishes. Having 3 racks with one totally dedicated to silverware is great. The only drawback is that with that top rack, you give up some height for your 2nd rack. The 2nd rack is adjustable but then you give up room for the bottom rack and then my plates won't fit. I have several large Tervis tumblers and smoothie cups that are too tall to fit on the 2nd rack so I have to put them on the bottom rack--so far no melted cups. Overall this is the best dishwasher for the money.

Works well. Quiet.

6/3/2016

We had this same dishwasher which we bought only 10 years ago. The pump and motor were on their last legs and would have to be replaced, so we shopped for a new dishwasher. This was far, far too early for replacement in my opinion. Nonetheless we both liked this model with the third rack on top - ideal for knives - and we bought the newer model, hoping that pump and motor would last longer this time. It's quiet and cleans very well. Often we can do fine using only the "light China" mode. This new model has a sump for debris which is easy to clean, unlike the older model. BUT my wife liked the flexibility of the bottom drawer of the OLDER model. Fortunately, we could take the bottom drawer out of the old one and put it in the new one. The silverware holder in the new one is superior to that in the old one.

Disappointed in Kitchenaid

5/4/2016

This is not my first Kitchenaid dishwasher. This interior design is different. The silverware self is not designed well. The knives slide all over I have to have a piece of silverware at the bottom. I removed the silverware basket to give myself more room on the bottom shelf and I still have trouble getting the dished that fitted in my old Kitchenaid in this one. I wash more loads a week than I have in the past.

I shopped for a new dishwasher for months and am extremely happy with the KitchenAid. I love the top silverware row and it's so quiet, I can run it even when company is over and sitting in the kitchen. Great features, excellent cleaning & drying capabilities!

Being able to adjust the heights of the racks really helps but the biggest plus is how quiet it is.

Not thrilled.

Overall, I like the KitchenAid dishwasher. However, it does not perform as well as the salesman said it would. I was told to only scape the dishes, not rinse them before placing in the dishwasher. If I do that, the dishes do not get clean; I do have to rinse them first. The dishes do not dry very well, even set on the heated dry setting. After we removed the upper silverware tray (personal preference), the dishes seemed to dry better. But there is still a lot of water that remains on the silverware basket, sides of racks and the tops of all glasses and mugs.

Not at all happy....

2/4/2016

I should have looked into returning this dishwasher but wanted to give it a chance. Have had it for a few months now and have not changed my mind. It is meant to clean and dry my dishes and just simply does not on a fairly regular basis. I am handwashing items that just went thru the dishwasher too often for me to be happy. I miss my Jenn-Air!

VERY QUIET !! CLEANS THE DISHES!!

2/4/2016

This Dishwasher runs much Quieter than I expected. The Dishes come out clean, and I do not Pre-Rinse. I Replaced a 24 yr old Frigidaire, only because I could not get new racks...Now I am very glad those racks were not available!!!

Love it

Overall we like it being quiet and efficient;would like to criticize the odd placement for the settings. Also the upper rack for silverware takes a lot of space from the lower rack,so in order to wash tall glasses we had to remove it.
