This 23 cubic foot refrigerator combines the benefits of a counter-depth design and premium food preservation. The Preserva Food Care System helps you maximize the freshness of produce. The system combines sequential dual evaporators to maintain optimum humidity levels in the refrigerator and freezer, an air filter to reduce odors, and an ethylene-absorption cartridge to help keep produce deliciously crisp.




Preserva® Food Care System

Provides two independent cooling thanks to sequential dual evaporators that preserve humidity in the refrigerator and help keep foods fresh. The FreshFlow Air Filter helps minimize refrigerator odors while the Produce Preserver helps delay over-ripening.


Refined Interior Design

Brightens the refrigerator compartment with enhanced lighting and metallic accents throughout the refrigerator.

BEWARE OF KITCHENAID PRODUCTS!!!

Purchased in July of 2014 and since August of 2017, it broke 4 times. Problem: frosting on the refrigerator side blocks the bottom vent preventing airflow. This causes the upper portion of the refrigerator to become warm and the lower areas to freeze. Solution: change control board and fan. Every 2 to 3 months. Or completely defrost every 2 to 3 months. The first repairman gave up after 3 tries. The last repair company (authorized KitchenAid repair company) told me that changing the parts would not solve the problem, and instead, suggested that I call KitchenAid to see if they could help me in any way. Now the real problem... I contacted KitchenAid's customer service via Live Chat and was told that since the product is out of warranty and that there are no recalls, that the owner is responsible for any costs associated with fixing the product. But this product is obviously defective. Come on KitchenAid, I really think you can do better for your customers.

purchased in 2014 has broken down 5 times. Ruing food plus all the repair cost.I also bought an oven from Kitchen Aid at the same time it has broken twice. I would never purchase any product from them ever. Not only do they breakdown, the company does not stand behind the products.

As I wait for KitchenAid to respond to a chat request, I decided to write a review for this piece of junk. This unit came with our brand new house and was a problem right out the gate- bad water pressure in the water dispenser, leaking under the freezer (was ultimately fixed, but this was happening when it was brand new), and over almost 4 years it's just ever been impressive. The drawers are wayyy too flimsy for every day use- i cant even imagine what a family with children would do with them, the drawers and shelves are set up counter intuitively and it's loud as ---- in our open floor plan home. Last but not least, it seems our compressor crapped out after only 4 years. TBD if that's really the problem, but we woke up one day and our freezer wasn't freezing and our fridge was at 70 degrees. If the warranty didn't apply, i would buy a new unit. There is no way someone would give this a 5 star rating.

Previous reviews have detailed the MANY problems with this appliance. We have experienced most of them during the 3-4 years we have owned this piece of junk. It was so bad that after about 1 year KitchenAid replaced our original refrigerator with a new one (after much efffort on our part) and we thought our problems were behind us. The replacement unit was equally bad and has been repaired numerous times in the past 2 years. Currently it has stopped working yet again and we've now reached the point where we are just going to junk it and buy a different brand. Disgraceful! This product should not be sold to anyone.

After renovating our kitchen, we purchased all new KitchenAid appliances and this (now discontinued) refrigerator has under-performed from the very beginning. Fast forward two years of owning and operating this unit: the appliance has all but failed us. We have to completely disassemble the cooling unit and defrost the fan element at least every 3 weeks. That's right - within 3 weeks, the fan and condensing unit is completely encased in solid ice. If there were a way to attach images to this review, I would show you the pictures I took of my husband doing it this weekend. After completing the process yesterday, it required 3 hours to manually defrost; that doesn't include the time it takes to completely empty the contents of the refrigerator and pack them in coolers to stay cold off-site during the defrost process. We lose hours of time each month for required "maintenance" on a completely ill-performing appliance. I have called KitchenAid with regard to this issue and am told that this is standard maintenance on refrigerators. I'm sorry but having to defrost and deice this appliance every 3 weeks should NOT be considered standard maintenance. And for a family with two small children (ages 2 and 6 month), this time is crippling our weekends. A word of warning to anyone out there that doesn't want to have to invest this much time and energy into your appliance: save yourself the hassle and buy another brand!!! I have been loyal to KitchenAid for years and have installed them in both of the houses we built previous to this one -- but this is my breaking point. #fail #extremelydisappointed

This is a terrible product! It has been discontinued for a reason. I didn't even want to give it a 1 star. I've had nothing but problems with ice maker stopping, condensation from door not getting sealed correctly, and coils turning to solid ice which didn't allow fridge to cool properly and spoiled a ton of food without us knowing until it was too late.

This model is a lemon. Numerous problems with it including thick frost in the refrigerator compartment, problems with malfunctioning water dispenser, etc. I've had this less than 5 years. Lousy warranty, expensive water filters. Bad news on a simple device that should last many years.

Nice looking refrigerator unit.

I bought the unit less than a month ago and the temperature inside works fine, but the service repairman has not been able to resolve the poor contact of the doors closing. The door ajar icon continues to go on and off intermittently without anyone using the refrigerator. This function stops the water and ice maker dispensers and turns off the light inside the refrigerator. It may be that a solution has not yet been identified but I've had two service visits so far.

I purchased this about 5 years ago as it matched the other appliances I purchased, range/oven and dishwasher. It never really performed properly, softened ice cream, periodically the ice maker would stop working and then all of a sudden there was ice again. The design is poorly thought out with a random small shelf under the center drawer in fridge and the drawers are flimsy and break easily. A few days ago it started making a loud buzzing noise inside the refrigerator, the ice had stopped working...AGAIN and the freezer seemed to be warming, despite putting it on max ice and max cool settings, as usual. I cleaned everything under and removed the back panel to dust and see if there was something obvious. Low and behold, the buzzing stopped by the next day and there was hope. Well, by the evening, everything in the freezer thawed and the fridge is gone too. I am not even going to get it fixed as it never worked properly. Come to find out this is a common problem of Kitchenaide refrigerators.

Terrible Performer! Stay away!

We have had this system for less than 2 years and have had local certified appliance repair out over 6 times hoping to keep it working. No luck! We pushed them to help us seek a replacement. They tell us as long as they can replace a part, Kitchen Aid will not replace the unit even with an extended warranty. So, they were here again today to attempt a fix and told us get rid of it. It is a lemon.

This is the first time we have bought all KitchenAid appliances for our kitchen. The LED lighting and all the filters stand out from the competition. After using them every day for over two years I can say without a doubt they perform as well as they look. The best brand we have ever purchased in the last 40 years!

After owning it for 10 months it had it's first problem....ice forming behind the drawers in the refrigerator side and eventually this shut down the cooling system on both sides. I had the same problem 3 more times within a year!! Finally decided it was not repairable. Many technicians have told me the dual evaporator system just doesn't operate the way it was built!! Going back to the basic design...single evaporator system!

KitchenAid makes bad refridgerators

Bought this fridge 2 years ago and in the past 8 months I'm having to replace the same part. The defrost sensor in the fridge goes bad. Ice builds up under the drawers and food spoils before you know there is even a problem. My first repair 8 months included defrost sensor and entire computer (which is apparently necessary as a result of the defrost sensor). Cost me $500+. Here I am 8 months later with the exact same problem... waiting on parts. After reading the reviews here, this appears to be an issue with this model. Where is a recall? Why can't KitchenAid fix their bad product?

Not All Its Cracked Up to Be

We've owned this refrigerator for right at 4 years and just had our 3rd repair. The first two had to do with the ice maker. This time the whole thing went out. Needed new evap coils. Yes, Whirlpool/KitchenAid covered it under warranty, but all my food spoiled and it took almost a week to get it resolved.

3 Years Old - broke twice

We have owned this refrigerator since mid 2013. It worked great up until about six months ago when the freezer and fridge side stopped cooling. We lost a great deal of food which equals money. The technician had to basically rebuild the entire unit. Guess what, it broke again last weekend and we lost another couple of hundred dollars worth of food. This refrigerator apparently has two evaporators which they are having trouble with. I won't buy another Kitchenaid product.

Poor Longevity Quality & Questionable Diagnostics

After just under 3 years of service, my unit started having issues with both the Freezer and Refrigerator compartments being to warm...Repairman - very seasoned and friendly - has been to house 3 times now in past 3 months and unable to pinpoint exact cause of failure...Intially thought it might be a control board, now is thinking a faulty fan on refrigerator compartment evaporator. Kitchenaid techs have been on the phone for consultation/diagnostics with repairman, but no clear indicator nor error code have been identified to localize and resolve the issue, so am left with trial and error replacement of various components until the issue is resolved...Am close to cutting my losses and replacing this unit with something a bit more reliable which could be a challenge in itself. Given the steep price tag of this unit I would certainly expect better longevity and performance, but it seems sub-par quality even on high end products with premium pricing is getting to be the norm with manufacturers these days.

Just a year old. The fan and thermistor had to be replaced. Had to wait for parts and then the incorrect part was sent. Poor construction. Fan sits in Styrofoam held together with tape. No wonder it broke, poor design. repairman said he never saw anything like this.still waiting for parts.

Nice refrigerator

I got this as part of my new home and loving it. It's neatly organized and you can push plenty of stuff in it. I wish the touch screen controls r a bit more easier. One more compliant that I have is that the main first not aligned. I need to call up support to get it fixed.

Worst Refridgerator Ever

I purchased this trying to stay true to Made in the USA yet fit the space I had. The unit drawers are so small you can't get much inside. The capacity is a joke need to use second fridge. The ice maker is loud and at Max Ice barely makes 20 cubes. I regret this purchase

Needs trim

Great look and functional

Fridge is two weeks old and I do love the look and it works well. Ice maker flooded my floor 3 times and repairman just left. Auger motor was frozen solid with 1/2 inch of ice. Turns out the freezer door is not fully closing the door contact and causes malfunction. Very sad but Kitchen aid is getting it fixed. I still love it though.

Substandard Stainless

While the interior of this appliance is large and well-laid out, the quality of the stainless steel exterior is dreadful. We miss the quality of the stainless on our Amana refrig. Disappointing. Fingerprints and streaks are ever-present. Stainless cleaner barely works. Also, this was the 2nd version of this unit we received. The first refrigerator had "pinched" corners and a crooked badge on the front. A "Friday" special? Quality control needs improvement!!!!

My Kitchenaid refrigerator is great as far as the quality of drinking water and the ice maker is used continuously at our house. The glass shelves are cleaned easily. We have plenty of storage for all the food for our large family. The stainless steel exterior looks nice and is easy to maintain.

Good size refrigerator with a classic look. Ample room for storage inside. On the door icemaker gives more room in the freezer section. Energy efficient - uses less than half the electricity compared to our 15 year old fridge (which was "energy-efficient at that time).

I bought the refrigerator back in the middle of September this year. We love the digital features, the lighting, and the simple but attractive look. However, we only recently in the last few weeks noticed that the refrigerator door and the freezer door do not quite line up. The refrigerator door sticks out from the freezer door about a half inch at the top but is even with it at the bottom. Also, we noticed that the refrigerator door does not close itself when given a slight push like our old refrigerator did. You guys kindly arranged for an appliance serviceman to look at the door for us and he was able to improve things a bit. With that said we like the refrigerator but are somewhat disappointed that the door issue was not able to be completely resolved.

Great appliance

We did a major kitchen renovation and decided on kitchenaide appliances for the refrigerator, dishwasher and range hood. We are very pleased with the products and would recommend them. We are a family of 2 and don't require a large refrigerator. I have had other brands including subzero and I fell this is just as good as the more expensive options.

I was skeptical about the reviews I read, but should have paid attention. The doors on my unit are not the same height no matter how much adjusting we do. Also troubling is that the doors are not flush when looking at the unit from the side. One of the doors projects out noticeably further than the other. The space in the refrigerator is odd as well, the door bins seem to be poorly spaced. There is too much space above one of them, which would have been a good spot for another bin. The stainless finish on one of the doors has an odd mark that looks like something dripped on it, and it won't come off; that will make me crazy. I like for new things that I purchase to look nice and new, not like I bought them used...Overall I am really unhappy with the quality of this appliance, as a result I am sending it back to the store.

Design Flaws

We bought this refrigerator new two and a half years ago and it has had problems since the first week. The ice maker is always jammed because there isn't enough insulation so some of it melts and blocks the dispenser. The wall between the freezer and fridge sweats on the fridge side because it also is not insulated enough. The fridge beeps at us occasionally because it thinks the door is open, and we have to open and close the door several times before it registers that it is closed. The butter door broke the first week because it catches on itself when you open it.

Perfect size for kitchen

We are very happy with all the features of this refrigerator. It is one of only a few that was counter depth and fit our 36 inch space. The inside seems quite elegant, including the recessed lights. The black finish is easy to keep clean. (But wish refrigerators still came in bisque.)

Everything we hoped for

Love our KitchenAid fridge. It's the best we've had in the last dozen years. Shelves are well organized and more room than we previously had though it is no larger than we've had with other brands. The freezer is very large yet doesn't seem to take space away from the regular part of the fridge. Would highly recommend this product to others.

Love the counter depth

I bought this refrigerator ~ a month ago. So far so good. I wish the shelves had additional adjustments. Otherwise, it works well. The stainless finish is not easy to keep clean. A bit pricey for what you get. Also vegetable bins are small.
